Audio Cassette Tape to CD or Digital Files

The process of transferring audio cassette tapes to CD or other digital formats involves playing the tape in a high quality cassette deck which is connected to a high specification amplifier and graphic equaliser. The output is then fed into the sound card of a PC. Once the audio content is captured, we transfer the captured file onto a CD in CD audio format so that it can be played onto any CD player or computer.  For this price as shown below, we do not include any editing or remastering.  In with the cost, we will include the high quality CD and a black title print onto the surface of the CD.

TechnoVisual can also supply audio remastering and editing, please call to discuss your requirements and we can give you a price for this service.

Should you require transfer to an MP3 or Wav file instead or as well as, please see prices below.

IMPORTANT NOTES

WE COPY AND TRANSFER THE DATA YOU GIVE US, PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT THAT MEDIA RECORDED MANY YEARS AGO WILL SOUND LIKE THAT RECORDED BY THE HIGH QUALITY AUDIO EQUIPMENT OF TODAY - THE DIFFERENCE IS CONSIDERABLE.

WE DO NOT DIGITALLY REMASTER, EDIT OR RESTORE THE AUDIO FOR A STRAIGHT TRANSFER, PLEASE ASK IF YOU NEED THIS EXTRA SERVICE.  THE TRACK EDIT COST (£1.00 PER TRACK) IS SIMPLY TO TAKE EACH SONG IN ORDER AND TRANSFER IT TO CD WITH THE USUAL PAUSE BETWEEN SONGS

IF THE MEDIA HAS BEEN DAMAGED IN SOME WAY THIS MAY NOT ALWAYS BE APPARENT AS WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW THE AUIDO SHOULD SOUND.  IF POSSIBLE, WE WILL TRY AND IDENTIFY THESE ISSUES AND SPEAK TO YOU ABOUT IT FIRST.  FOR OBVIOUSLY DAMAGED OR FOR BLANK MEDIA, WE WILL RETURN THE TAPE AT NO CHARGE.

*TechnoVisual will supply most of the transfer services above but we do send one or two media types off to a local engineer if we don't have the correct facilities in-house e.g. reel to reel tapes.  If this is the case we do need to make a minimum charge of £20.00 plus vat to cover the extra time and postage involved with these transfers.  We will always let you know first if this is the case.

**All the above options are magnetic media, which could have been around for a very long time.  Unfortunately this media is liable to degrade if it is not stored well, particularly if it comes in contact with moisture or has been stored near hi-fi speakers.  If it is possible to take copies from your media we will, but we can not be held responsible if any damage has occured and the audio does not play quite as expected, e.g. fluttering or glitches in sound. If it sounds to us as though there has been obvious damage to the media, we don't carry out any restoration here and so in this case we always prefer to hand the media back with no charge. If you prefer to hear an MP3 of the audio first before we transfer to a CD, please let us know

***Short run tapes may be charged due to the time taken to process them.  We will consider discounted prices for larger quantities.

ALL CHARGES ABOVE ARE SUBJECT TO VAT.
